National Minimum Wage (NMW) rates to change from 1 October 2013
As of 1 October 2013 the following increases to the NMW rates will take effect:
Category of Worker
The NMW rate per hour depends on a person’s age and whether they’re an apprentice – they must be at least school leaving age (16) to obtain it. |

Young workers (aged under 18 but above compulsory school age and not apprentices) |

Apprentices (apprentices under 19 or 19 and over but in the first year of apprenticeship) |
£2.68 (currently £2.65) |
